Product Introduction：The GBQ heavy-duty plate feeder is a high-capacity feeder placed under a silo, perfect for feeding large, dense ore that needs coarse crushing or jaw breaking. Compared to the earlier GBQ lightweight plate feeder, it can handle more load and take more impact.
1. How It Works
The motor drives the head sprocket through a hard-tooth surface reducer, which then powers two strong traction chains at low speed. The chains have arc-lapped or thick-scale plates. Big chunks of ore fall from the silo straight onto the plates, move forward with the chain, and get discharged at the head into the crusher. A variable frequency drive keeps the speed steady for consistent ore feeding.
2. Main Structure
It has heavy-duty frames, drive assemblies (variable frequency motors, planetary/hard-tooth surface reducers, active sprockets), tail spiral tensioners, thick alloy steel traction chains, arc-lapped wear-resistant scale plates, support wheels, track assemblies, and protective plates. Core wear parts like chains, scale plates, and support wheels are all heat-treated.
3. Suitable Materials (Example: Gold Mines)
Works well with big pieces of gold-bearing quartz, heavy ore, dense, and very abrasive block materials. Can handle feed up to 500–700mm, loose bulk density up to 2.2 t/m³, and works in outdoor and humid conditions. Can be installed horizontally or with a slight incline (max tilt 12°; not recommended for heavy loads at steep angles as material might roll).

5. Compared to GBQ Light Plate Feeder
- Light Plate Feeder: handles feed ≤160mm, low silo pressure, standard for 200-ton gold mines, cost-effective.
- Heavy-Duty Plate Feeder: for very heavy, oversized raw ore, tall silo columns, big dropping impacts; typically for larger mines with massive ore blocks.
6. Model Naming
GBQ: G for feeding, B for plate type, Q for heavy-duty. Example: GBQ100-8 — chain plate width 1000mm, head-to-tail distance 8m.
7. Ore Processing Flow
Raw Ore Silo → GBQ Heavy-Duty Plate Feeder → Jaw Crusher (coarse) → Belt Conveyor
