Product Introduction：The PL vertical impact crusher, often called the vertical impact crusher or sand making machine, is a high-speed impact crusher for fine crushing and shaping. It's ideal for medium-hard and super-hard ores, mostly used after jaw and cone crushers for a three-stage fine crush. It can also shape aggregates and make sand manually.
1. How It Works
Material drops from the top feed into a fast-spinning impeller and gets thrown out at high speed due to centrifugal force. There are two crushing modes:
1. Stone-for-Stone (PL): Thrown rocks hit the materials already in the chamber, causing friction and breakage, which minimizes wear—perfect for hard rock.
2. Stone Strike (PLST): The wear-resistant impact plate inside the chamber crushes more efficiently and shapes sand well, good for medium-hard ores.
Crushed material comes out from the bottom, and with screening, this creates a closed loop to control particle size.
2. Main Parts
Feed hopper, distributor, impeller rotor, vortex crushing chamber, wear-resistant impact block/plate, spindle assembly, motor, frame, lubrication system. There's an optional hydraulic lid for easy maintenance. The impeller and impact block are the main wear parts, usually made of high-chromium wear-resistant alloys.
3. Suitable Materials (Especially for Gold Mines)
Good for granite, quartzite, gold-bearing quartz veins, basalt, and other medium to super-hard, abrasive ores. Material moisture should be ≤ 8%, since too much moisture can damage the chamber.
Pros: Better for hard ores than hammer crushers; not good for soft, sticky, or muddy ores.
Feed size usually ≤ 60mm, discharge adjustable 0–5mm.
4. Product Highlights
Quick switch between cavity types, balancing wear resistance and high output. Finished particles are cubic, few needle-like shapes; low iron contamination, safe for gold ores with minimal flotation interference. Built-in protective shell in the crush chamber reduces wear compared to hammers. No strips, low clogging risk; built-in airflow with self-circulation controls dust and keeps noise down. Combines fine crushing and slight shaping for more even ball mill feeding.
