The mill is a key piece of equipment for crushing raw materials and is also the most commonly used. Its main part is a cylinder that's a bit narrow but quite long, slowly rotated by the transmission system. Material goes in from the feed end, and inside the cylinder, the steel balls and the material itself fall and grind each other, breaking the material down. Because the material is continuously fed, the pressure pushes it from the feed end to the discharge end. Material that reaches the right size comes out from the discharge end. In wet grinding, water carries away the material; in dry grinding, air takes it away.
Where it's used: Mostly for jobs that need a pretty uniform coarse grind.
