A disc filter is a mechanical device used for filtering liquids.
Its main parts include:
1. Filter Disc Assembly
This consists of multiple filter discs stacked together, each covered with filter cloth. Liquid passes through the spaces between the discs.
2. Drive Unit
A motor or other power source rotates the filter disc assembly to make filtration more efficient.
3. Liquid Tank
Holds and supplies the liquid that needs to be filtered.
4. Clean Liquid Tank
Collects the filtered, clean liquid.
5. Framework
The structure that supports the whole filter machine.
While the filter discs spin, the liquid is continuously sprayed onto them from the feed tank. Centrifugal force pushes the liquid through the filter cloth, where it drains into the clean liquid tank through the gaps between the discs. The residue stays on the disc surface and gets scraped off as it rotates. This method boosts filtration efficiency and works well for filtering large volumes of liquid.
